About Color Name
CSS defines 148 color keywords, from aliceblue to yellowgreen, each one fixed sRGB value; a few are spelled two ways, such as gray and grey. Most hex colors have no name, so the page gives the nearest one and how far away it is.
How this page writes it
- An exact match is written as its name, or as both names when two keywords share the value.
- Otherwise the nearest keyword is chosen by CIEDE2000, and the distance is shown.
Watch for
- A nearest name is a different color: type it back and you get its own hex, not yours.
- transparent and currentcolor are keywords too, but not fixed colors, so they are not listed.
