How HEX becomes YCbCr BT.709
Each step shows the values for the color above, as the converter computes them.

About YCbCr BT.709
HD video encodes color as BT.709 YCbCr: luma with the HDTV weights and two color differences, in the studio range. In 8 bits, luma runs from 16 for black to 235 for white, and the color differences sit around 128, between 16 and 240.
How this page writes it
- Luma weighs the encoded channels by 0.2126, 0.7152 and 0.0722, then everything is scaled to the studio range; written to two decimal places.
Watch for
- Full-range and studio-range values look alike but are not interchangeable: mixing them up washes out or crushes the blacks.
