YCbCr
About YCbCr
YCbCr splits a color into luma, Y, and two color differences, Cb toward blue and Cr toward red, so images can store color at lower resolution than brightness. This form is JPEG's: BT.601 weights over the full 0 to 255 range.
How this page writes it
- Luma weighs the gamma-encoded red, green and blue by 0.299, 0.587 and 0.114; Cb and Cr are centered on 128. Written to two decimal places.
Watch for
- Video uses other variants, with BT.709 weights and a studio range of 16 to 235 for luma; values from one do not match another.
